Shalom. On Friday 14.4 at 10:00 we will hold the first Hebrew for Linux Workshop. The venue is tentatively the IDC in Herzlia, but an offer of a location better served by public transport will be considered favourably. The purpose of the workshop is to crystallize, coordinate and accelerate the haphazard and piecemeal progress already underway towards full Hebrew support under Linux, and to induct more people into this effort. The workshop is intended primarily for developers - and people interested in becoming developers (documenting and packaging the software also count as development!). Nadav Har'El will open with a survey of progress achieved up to date and a perspective of our goals. Afterwards we want to have short technical reviews of topics such as character encoding, fonts in X, BiDi algorithms, i18n in KDE and GTK etc., to enable developers unfamiliar with these issues to get started. If you believe you can present such a review, please email me or the ivrix-discuss list. Please forward this to people not on these lists who you think might be able to contribute. We want to have with us everybody working on Hebrew for Linux. If you don't follow regularly the mailing lists be sure to check <http://www.ivrix.org.il> for updates. -- Lehitraot, Roi. ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
