Hi,

I highly recommend guy keren's tutorials on various linux/ unix related
subjects, available at: http://www.actcom.co.il/~choo/lupg

You might also want to search the list's archives, as I'm pretty sure
this question has been asked before and many different answers given...

For c programming, there's a platheora of books. I wouldn't recommend an
online tutorial, as it's hard to encompass all of the (dangerous) areas
of c in a small online tutorial. Nevertheless, soem tutorials do exist,
you might start with the links at:
http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/users/yechiel/CS/

c++- read the above, it applies equally to c++.

If you already know how to program and just need to "brush up", I would
go straight to the source (no pun intended) and read kernigan and
ritchie on c, and stroustrup on c++.

Good luck!

And on a related tangent, I've been looking for quite some time for a
collaborative forum of some form (web based forum, newsgroup, mailing
list, irc channel) where GENERAL programming problems are discussed, not
necesarily related to any language/ platform/ architecture/ product. Can
anyone recommend? TIA!
