I have two Gamatronic UPS's: an MP110 (1000VA) model used for an Alpha
server and a smaller Compact (600VA) model used for a Linux machine. A
serial cable with Powermon II software (for Linux and various flavors of
Unix) is available for about an extra $60. Everything seems to work well.
The UPS's have kept the computers running during short power outages and
successfully performed controlled shutdowns during extended power outages.
