hello people! i've had a strange error. after recompilation of the kernel 2.4.17 [for riva tnt2,agpgart support] i had a few X locks ...after which i had to reset, after these i had bad blocks, maintanence mode, fsck etc. after that i tried to log from a console as my reular user, but had "zsh: fatal error: out of memory"!
the .zshrc was executed, as well as .profile. in resolution process i chsh'd to bash - can log in. chmoded 0 both .zshrc & .profile - could. i've noticed .history.LOCK, deleted it. chmoded back both files - could not log in. the strange thing was that the last line of .profile was executed [echo "finished .profile"] and after this the zsh exited with the above error. i edited .profile, and removed 1 line [random line] and i could login again! note, i had no problems logging in as root. Q: is this some memory limitation on environment variables number problem ? where are the limits set ? i love this zsh... but shall i look for another shell ? A: ??? thanks ahead!
