I have been using JDK-1.3.1-02b from Blackdown (java-linux project at www.blackdown.com). I find it much more reliable then Sun's JDK for linux. The URL (for a good mirror) is
ftp://sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch/mirror/java-linux/JDK-1.3.1/i386/FCS-02b/INSTALL-j2sdk ftp://sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch/mirror/java-linux/JDK-1.3.1/i386/FCS-02b/j2sdk-1.3.1-02b-FCS-linux-i386.bin or if you don't develop, s/j2sdk/j2re/ (almost half the size).
