I found this in support.ximian.org and it solved also my problem, so here goes the answer to those that will have this problem.
I just upgraded to 1.2 from 1.0.8. My Contacts have disappeared from Evolution. Are they gone for good or just hiding in a file somewhere that wasn't upgraded properly?
