We are looking for UPS recommendations that would fit following criterias:
1) Connection between the UPS and computer is made using TxD and RxD pins
ONLY (except ground). In Best Power UPSes it was called "smart mode of
operation".
2) Smart mode of operation must be fully described and openly
avialable (Read: Have opensource linux drivers)
3) It is possible to "login" into UPS and receive following information:
* input voltage
* Battery supply period starting from now (in case of
power interupt).
* Whether battery should be replaced.
Best Power UPSes (before the company gone bankrupt) fitted nicely.
I prefer Israeli made UPSes (Gomeh, Gamatronic) but would consider other
models as well.
