Ok, finally go the error again. As soon as I started up real player. The
ADSL connection starts when the machine is booted so there is no routing
table before the adsl connection. Maybe someone can understand from the
logfile what is happening. When the connection breaks ppp0 is still there.
Takes a few seconds for it to dissappaer. One other thing I noticed is that
when I do ping the modem, even though the "Host is unreachable" message
appears, I still see the "LAN" and "Line TX" lights flashing on the modem
during the ping.

  Can you post the routing table (/sbin/route -n)

1. Before you got connected to the Internet in the first place.
2. After you got connected and the while the connection works.
3. After pppd has died.
