It seems like it was easier than I thought :)

Hi,
I know it is a long discussed thread, but I still have some questions
about it:

1. I managed to make xprint work one time and it worked nice. (except
for colors not being perfect)
Lately it stopped working and I have no idea why.
It seems like mozilla is configured well, xprint is running "veakol
magniv vesababa". But, when I send a print using the xprint, nothing
happens. it doesn't even get to my cups.
Does any one has an idea what it can be?

I tried to debug the problem, and I noticed that in some cases the xprint daemon gets a segmentation fault.
I got a hunch that the problem is connected somehow to upgrading glibc or something similar, so i tried re-emerge xprint (I use gentoo). It did the trick. I can print with xprint again. (and maybe i'm just fantasizing, but it seems like the colors are better now...)

2. I happened to come across a mini-HOWTO in gentoo forums:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=139793&highlight=xprint+mozilla
which explains how to use freetype2 to print non western characters
while using TrueType fonts.
I managed to configure my mozilla to use the truetype fonts (and
already the pages look much prettier),
but I didn't manage to make it print the hebrew.
Does any1 has any experience with this mechanism? Is it possible to
make it work with Hebrew?

When I started to use the TrueType fonts, the webpages immidatly looked better. (or maybe it's just because I replaced the font :) )
Anyway, using TrueType fonts (freetype2), and xprint is a good combination, and it works fine.

Noam
