Yes -
You are definitely correct that I paid for it in my own time.
but my labor goes into a system that I sell that is sold for a lot of money
AND - I sure as heck dont give it away for free like www.startcom.org

Considering that the word Open Source are rather prominent on your web site I'm pretty surprised that you know so little on how Open Source works.

I can't comment on the StartCom guys because I don't know them.

I can tell you that I make my living by selling services for software that anyone can download and install for himself.

In fact, it's even our company motto: "The code is free. Your time isn't". In short - we don't sell software, we sell risk managment and time to market shortening.

It may sound weird, but it works.

so - I'm still asking how do THEY make money to pay for their computing
resources, their own time and bandwidth

By installing, training, implmenting and supporting people who use the software they give for free which they did not write and spent as much time as you did (not very much I assume) in "de-logoying"?

Cheers,
Gilad
