The system is a Debian/testing updated up to "now" with all the needed packages for this script.

I have altered the code a bit so that it will take the icq num and pass as parameters, that might solve your problem if you've defined something wrong in the sendsmsrc file (which btw suppose to look like this:
account icq num pass
account icq num pass
)
