Seems that the fix for this was committed in upstream apache for next release (2.1). http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=28898 2.1 is now in alpha, so I guess even sid apache2 shouldn't have this fix yet. I suspect you'd have hard time getting the patch backported to sarge, unless you can show this problem could be a security hole (might actually be true!).
