'/etc/alternatives/x-window-manager' points to '/usr/bin/kwin', the KDE windows manager, not to Konqueror. On the other hand '/etc/alternatives/x-www-browser' points to '/usr/bin/konqueror'. "update-alternatives --config x-www-browser" solved the problem. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
