All this discussion about the appropriate file format for one's resume
(CV) caused me to review my own resume (which is in HTML format, and is
available from my Web site).

When I found that I forgot to make it XHTML 1.0 Strict valid, I updated
it accordingly and validated it using the W3C Markup Validation Service
at http://validator.w3.org/

Several of my Web site files are valid HTML 4.01 Transitional, because
Google AdSense for Search code is not XHTML valid (I notified Google
about this problem, but they were not interested in solving this
problem).

There is a XML resume library (Debian package name: xml-resume-lib),
which provides a standard XML DTD for writing resumes and for creating
various formats from the XML resume. One Day I Shall Convert My Resume
Into XML.
