Nobody lost it. It was settled out of court.

I don't see any reference from that article to the lawsuit.

Typically, when party A sues party B, the results can be:

    * A wins. B pays them or otherwise compensates them.
    * B wins. A gets nothing, and sometimes have to pay the defense
      expenses.

And outcome where A sues B, and then winds up paying B a large sum of
money is not very common, even with Microsoft.
