I am trying to install lirc, however, i am having trouble compiling the modules. I have kubuntu edgy. I installed the linux-source package which is the same version of the kernel i am using. I copied the debian/config to .config and make oldconfig && make modules
then i downloaded from sourceforge lirc 0.8.1 and ./configure left the default serial and let it run the configure. Then, make && make install. However, when i try to modprobe the lirc_serial i get: WARNING: Error inserting lirc_dev (/lib/modules/2.6.17-11-386/misc/lirc_dev.ko): Invalid module format FATAL: Error inserting lirc_serial (/lib/modules/2.6.17-11-386/misc/lirc_serial.ko): Invalid module format I don't understand, i used the same kernel version sources with their ubuntu patched. Not a generic kernel. What am i doing wrong. 10x.
