Several years ago I used the TimeSheet application, which I got from the Israeli representatives of CA at the time. Its model of building up hierarchical classification of tasks was not so convenient for me. But I used the software for some of my freelance projects.
The software ran on MS-Windows 3.11 (I said "Several years ago", didn't I?). It probably can run under Linux using Wine (but I didn't try it myself). I suggest checking out GNUCash, and seeing whether it is possible to reuse it for hour reporting by overloading the concept of cash with time. If anyone is planning to organize a group of developers for free time reporting software, invite me too.
