[LIH] How to use minicom ?

I have redhat 6.1 installed. I would like to connect to VSNL GIAS Students
Shell account from linux. How should I do it ? Does linux have any utility
like telix that I currently use ? Tell me the exact command to issue as
root (please not something like "Use minicom").
