Apache Jserv is being replaced by jakarta.apache.org. Apache speaks
http, jakarta speaks Ajpv12 (apache java protocol version 1.2). But
the internal architecture of Jakarta is well suited for writing your
own request adapter, which will read your custom protocol.

Jakarta has adapters for http and ajpv12 right now.
