Resurrecting an old thread, but here's what happens on my m/cs
The symlinks _are_ broken with the newer kernels and devfsd..
Dunno why this is happening, but there is another queer change in the
permissions..devfsd seems to make these of the form"lr-xr-xr-x",
while the others are of the form "lrw-rw-rw-". Why these different
types?? Though the kernel should not have any problems with this, I'm
not sure...so is there any way to restore the permissions to
*normal*...Pointers to patches will be appreciated
BTW, I've gone through Gooch's FAQs without any mention of any such
problems....that has set me thinking, were Ragu and I aberrations??
Others had the same broken symlinks and warped perms??
