IMHO, xfs renders fonts better than the X server. the unix/:1 is to tell X that
the font server is running on port -1. xfs is generally started from /etc/rc.d.
if u wanna start it manually, give a command like:
# xfs -port -1
replace the -1 with any port u want to run it on, and indicate the port in u're
XF86Config
