Linux does is pretty fast. Use SDL/XVidExt. it's faster than doze atleast.

TNT has a bekaar 2D engine. 3dfx 2D engine is the fastest out there. And yeah,
H/W 3D support on Be is present only for 3dfx cards. go figure.

The YMF724 and for that matter even the YMF754 ROCK! they've got pretty kewl
features, and have on board 3D sound acceleration. While Live! requires 4
speakers for surround sound. this stuff does it with 2. how's that? If only it
would open up its PCI register specs! The OPL3/SAX sux. it hasn't got anything
on it, to be fit to be called a "Sound Card". I might as well use my PC Speaker!;)

Be uses the PIII Katmai and KNI instructions for better speed. That's the advantage
of being a new O/S. It uses all the latest tech available. And the O/S framework
is more optimised to use the existing tech.
