hi everyone,
I am using mandrake7.1 on alsa drivers. i upgraded my kernel from 2.2.15
to 2.2.16 , the system is up except one problem, the sound is dead. On
booting up the new kernel, there is a message 'modeprobe :unable to locate
intel8x0 '. i guess that the kernel is not able to find this sound
module. how do i put it there.
i have not installed any new modutils rpm file, do i need to do
so. moreover do i need the kernel source to configure any modules using
xconfig(i am in the process of downloading it)
thankfully i have my old kernel and on booting it up the sound module is
loaded fine. but how do i setup 2.2.16 to use sound.
please help me out.
