hi harsha,
you can use the mod utils package which has commands like lsmod, depmod, rmmod
etc to dynamically add and remove modules.
you can give a ls mod to see all the loaded modules and if it is used or
not.you can use rmmod to remove modules andinsmod to load modules.
If you have an isa net card u can use pnpdump and isapnp commands to
initialise it or if pci you can use pciutils package tools like lspci and
setpci to set the pci params also take a look at /proc/pci and /proc/bus/pci
and you can start and stop xfs while running X.the conf file is
/etc/X11/fs/config on redhat, take a look.
all the best.

regards

sanjeev
