 Ideally, only root should have access to that file.  So take a look at
 /var/log/secure (on redhat systems at least) to see the root logins.  Then
 take a look at the .bash_history file in your root directory.
 
 Finally, I do hope you are the only one with the root password on that box -
 if every tom, dick and harry in the org has the root password, change it
 immediately.
