Hi Folks:
I have installed RH 6.2 on a 10 GB HDD with a 8MB /boot and the rest as /.
I notice that I cannot use the /misc directory which was possible with RH 5.2.
When I try to copy a file into it, I get the following message:
cp:cannot create regular file 'filename': Permission denied.
When I tried to create a file in the /misc directory using an editor, this is
what I get
error opening file.
ls shows the following:
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Nov 14 09:59 misc
I reinstalled it and still the problem persists. Is this the way it ought to
be?
What could be the problem? I have a few scripts which I wrote which use this
directory and I don't want to change them if you can help.
