Hello,
I am a new Linux user.I installed Red Hat 6.1 last year but
didnt work on it much.This time I have installed red Hat 6.2 on upgrading my
comp.Please help in my folowing problems.(i am using Loadlin to boot
Linux):-
1. I am not able to mount the windows filesystem ie my c
drive(/dev/hda1)and also d drive.I have used the proper procedure that i
read somewhere.(Is it because my primary partition containing C-drive ie
windows is 9.52 GB.)the error says -wrong major and minor numbers for
/dev/hda1.
2. When i mount a floppy, it says wrong major and minor nos.for fd0.My
friends are able to use the floppy to transfer small files from windows to
linux.
3. I have configured the modem and it is installed and working.When I try to
connect to vsnl,it sends login name etc. and then suddenly says "ppp daemon
died suddeenly".
When i use kppp to connect ,the log file says that ppp support is not with
the kernel or something like that but I had Installed everything properly.
Please give me suggestions for these problems.
