Hi Usha,

Whenever I compile and install something from tar files on my Linux box,
I do the following :

./configure
make
make install > test_DOC

I always preserve this file test_DOC which contains the paths where make
install has installed whatever stuff on my machine.

Than I can manually delete those binaries or documetation files referring
to test_DOC.

Thus, now I have got icewm_DOC, mutt_DOC, mplayer_DOC etc. No problems.

Listers please suggest if there is any better way.

Regards

Rajesh
