[LIH] wrong minor and major number

Hi All,
  few days back, on my Red Hat 6.2 , i installed kernel 2.4.2, 
everything is working fine,
but i am unable to mount the fat32 partation of the hard disk, it is 
saying wrong minor and major number. i am included the support of vfat 
into the kernel..

how to solve the problem. any help
