hi shakeel,
after you download the cd iso image you can test it my mount ing it as a
loopback iso filesystem.use the following command for that.
mount -t iso9660 -o loop cdimagename.iso /path/to/mountpoint.
if it successfully mounts then the cdimage is fine.you can also check the
contents of the cd by listing the contents of the mount point dir like a
normal filesystem.make sure the umount the filesystem once done.
To burn the cd image to a disk,I recommend using the cdrecord utility in
linux.it is easy and less hassles.but u might have a tough time,recognising
the cdwrites as it has to be emulated as a scsi drive..Read the cdwriting
howto from linuxdoc.org to setup the cdwriter.but to burn the image to a cd
use the command as follows
cdrecord dev=0,0,0 speed=8 -v -dummy cdimage.iso
first to test the image and then
cdrecord dev=0,0,0 speed=8 -v -dummy cdimage.iso
to physically burn it.
where dev=0,0,0 is the scsi bus, target, lun of theide or scsi cdwriter given
in the output of cdrecord -scanbus,command.
