If you are already familiar with GNU Emacs/XEmacs, the Gnus package is
worth a look. It comes with the stock Emacs distributions, so if you
have Emacs you have Gnus as well. By a GUI if you want something as
flashy as Outlook or something, perhaps Gnus is not for you.
(Technically it is as good as / better than anything else in town).
