I had some free time thus i decided to shift my "/" to
reiserfs.... I compiled the kernel using kgcc , I am
using RH7.
I finished downloading gcc 3 and made a dir /objdir
where i did the ../configure make and make install
Now when i modify the Makefile for linux kernel there
as many errors reported and the kernel does not
compile......... I even tried make - i bzimage after
make dep and clean (which do not give problem) but
still inspite of -i the kernel does not compile.
now how do i compile my kernel with my shiny new gcc
compiler.....??????
or how should I go about compiling the installing my
gcc?
should I compilet gcc 3 with kgcc instead of the gcc
with RH7? then compile kernel with new gcc?
gcc -v gives some message about he "configure" and
then stated gcc as ver 3.......
I use to face the same prob with the gcc compiler
shipped with rh7 and had tyo use kgcc....
any idea how should i go about....
And yes i managed to get the "/" on reiserfs..... with
kgcc and some help from the net
