This is getting to be a FAQ on the mailman lists.
Mailman features:
You have a pretty web interface to work with.
You *need* a password. Mailman has been written under the assumption
that all users will have a known password.
Mailman does not send individual mails. It bunches recipients together
and send them so that the mail server may optimally send out
multi-recipient mails. This helps in that the bandwidth consumed is
much reduced.
However, this also disables personalization of emails, which needs
custom single recipient mails, or it requires MTA support for a
feature called VERP.
Hopefully, this helps in cooling off some people around, and helps the
newbies in knowing what they have to do to leave.
