Meenakshi,
AFAIK, the approach is through /etc/suauth file. This file
(/etc/suauth) is the one which governs the behaviour of
the su command. You need to put something like:
--------------<snip>------------------
# No one should su to root unless in group "boss".
# This is how BSD does things. (I am on Slackware,
# don't know if it is different in Sys V inits)
#
root:ALL EXCEPT GROUP boss:DENY
--------------</snip>-----------------
Do an "info suauth" and check out the details please.
Could somebody check this up on RH, SuSE, Mandrake or
one of the Sys V distros, and give me a feedback ? If it
works, I could make a LOST or even a HDI(How-Do-I) on this
topic ... This is important over a network.
Suresh, just check this in freebsd pl.
