hmm.., the extras look like
1) Insert many common text segments,including: ChangeLog entry, GPL, Date, Time
( in vim inserting from another file is a piece of cake, and it even
supports pipes. i.e ":r |date", will run date aand append its output )
2) Gnome session management compliant. ( whatever that means )
3) Save the state of the program to a "Session" file for editing groups of
files.
