hi, i am installing pcqlinux/rhl 7.1 and i encountered the following problem :
my bios does not support more than 1024 cylinders but my hdd is big .. i changed the /boot partition to keep it under 6.4 gb as suggested in the faqs .. the installation went off fine but now when i boot , linux hangs at the message 'installing /eth0' .. i tried using step-by-step confirmation but then it skips this step and hangs after displaying a black blank screen ... booting from the boot floppy does the same thing .. :( ... please help me!!! i have a 40gb hdd of which 75% is for dos/windows and the rest for linux... i have a pc266 M810 motherboard with 256 mb ram, 1.4gig AMD athlon, gateway ev700 monitor, 10/100Mbps ethernet card ... thanks in advance, regards, farhan. _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
