Even I had the same #. Keeping in mind the 1024 cylinder problem this is what 
i did :-
1. I limited my C:> to 5Gb using fips (its there in the RH 7.1 cd. remember 
to defragment
ur drive first).
2. I then ran the installation and chose to partition the drive with fdisk. I 
then
created a new partition for the /boot directory (around 50 mb).
3. I restarted my computer after saving the table.
4. I booted into DOS mode and ran fdisk to create a partition (D:> around 10 
Gb)
another partition. I formattted D:>.
5. I ran the installation and this time I used Disk Druid and alloted the 50 
Mb
space for the /boot directory and the rest for the root directory / .
6. Voila !
