Creating a new /tmp directory is not sufficient. It should also have the
right permissions.

ls -ld /tmp should show the original permissions.
Duplicate this on the new /tmp and you should be fine.

drwxrwxrwt 499 root     sys        62484 Oct 25 11:08 /tmp
