Where does JDK expect to find "cut" ? The  default is
at /bin if you compile from source. Many distros keep
it in /usr/bin. Do the following:

a) Check error message to see where JDK looks for cut
   and note it down.

b) See where it is installed on your box: #which cut

c) Make a soft link (with ln -s) at the dir where JDK
   expects to find it to the actual location.

The problem here is of policies at sourceforge. All of
us face the same situation ... If you check in the LIH
archives, our List Admin had posted this in  detail in
the recent past.
