Recently my friend appeared for a local Linux quiz,
with 50 questions in total. Some he answered correctly,
some I rectified with the help of my LIH knowledge.
The quiz is over, but I have'nt understood follow. Q's.
Can any body help to satisfy his IQ ?
1) There was a sentence in the quiz, which goes...
"Linux has several graphical interfaces, like KDR,
which acts as ..."
(Is the KDR diff from KDE ? I think it as Print Error).
2) Like AfterStep ( NEXT ), is there any Mac like
GUI in Linux ?
3) How many desktops are available/possible in Linux ?
( I know abt 4 only ).
4) Is it possible to HIDE the taskbar completely in GUI ?
5) What is the exact working logic behind "Shortcut on
Desktop". What program/function/method/shell command
get executed in the background, when we create S.Cut?
6) KDE has a feature "applet". Is it the same as in Java,
or basically it is the diff piece of diff cake ?
7) How many number of servers are available in Linux ?
( Like Web/Print/Samba servers ...). Which are those ?
8) In a LAN of 10 Linux machines, maximum how many can be
configered as Gateway machines ?
9) Choose any one :
When a TCP/IP packet arrives from the client, the server
can reject "None/One/Many/All" packets recieved by it,
if error-correction mechanism is not implemented on the
server side.
10) Which of the following must be hard-coded in the

in the world ?
Gosh ! How little I know about Linux !! Your help will be
highly appriciated.
