Hi,
A few days ago I had posted about configuring myODBC with MySQL and
ColdFusion, while working on the same problem, I have now ruined (that is
what I believe) my MySQL and it is not working.
What happened is as follows:
1. I had MySQL ver 3.23.43-1 as db installed
2. MySQL devel libraries installed ver - 3.23.22
3. ColdFusion ver 4.5.1 for Linux
4. Downloaded and installed MyODBC ver 2.50.39 (from tarball)
(from rpm it was giving problem)
5. Downloaded and installed unixODBC-2.1.1 (from tarball)
However as I was unable to configure MyODBC, I tried uninstalling everything
and removed
1. ColdFusion
2. MySQL 3.23.43-1
( however could not do so, and it flashed a message that
dependenices with PHP will be broken)
However at startup and shutdown I am told that MySQL server has been started
and shutdown resp. but I cannot use the command 'mysql -u -p' and the bash
says that command not found.
Then I tried upgrading MySQL with 3.23.47 ver and downloaded the tarball and
proceeded as written in INSTALL-BINARY file but failed everytime as it said
that mysql already exists.
Now what do I do next and how do I repair up.
