make vmlinuz? no. make vmlinux? maybe (haven't yet configured this
2.4.17 tree, so can't tell).

[root@fileserver linux-2.4.17]# make -n vmlinuz
make: *** No rule to make target `vmlinuz'.  Stop.

Possible. They started with gzip, then bzip2 and now no compression? Quite
likely. The kernel has indeed grown. ;-)
