Get some more memory. You are in dire need of memory if you need 2GB of swap...

I am puzzled as in what linux machine can actually respond to anything when 
it's using say aroung a gig of swap.. I see HP-UX machines doing it daily but 
linux.. no..

IMO if you have swap usage over 100MB, machine becomes next to unresponsive..
