I have successfully deployed
Samba 2.2.3a to operate as PDC from a RedHat 6.2 box.
The system is stable and works fine. Iam running the
netbios domain with 50 win2k clients and samba domain
controller. Iam using user desktop policies
(ntconfig.pol) and custom profiles(Size of the profile
folder is restricted using the policy through policy).
There are some peculiarities in our setup
We use openldap with PAM for user authentication.
This was originally designed for TNG and consequently
we are maintaining two password databases(One in LDAP
for Linux and the other in /etc/samba/smbpasswd)
Is it possible to maintain the user database on LDAP only
doing away with /etc/samba/smbpasswd completely. (I am
trying to have single user authentication database.
Any suggestions.
