Nope.  Since the code is released under the GPL, anyone who takes it 
must also release it under the GPL.  This is not the problem here.  The 
problem here is that yahoo wanted to stop our code from working.

All of their clients use a new protocol.  All of our clients use an old 
protocol.  All they have to do is stop supporting the old protocol - 
which they did - partially at first, and fully now.  Now, they also send 
a message saying that the client is no longer supported.  This is 
presumably for the benefit of people who are still using older versions 
of yahoo's client.
