Yes. But the issue about compatibility with DOC files still remains. Until that issue is completely resolved either through Microsoft tying up with KOffice OR KOffice refusing to deal with DOC files. Why not use vim? :) With features like split windows, folding, marks And also availibility on most platforms, its an ideal choice.
