Hi all,
I am writing a simple shell script to compare two
archives, in zip/tar/tgz format. I untar the two
arhives in 2 separate folders in /tmp directory and
compare them using the diff program.
when I untar the first archive, it gets untarred to
the destination directory. But the second archive
doesn't get untarred to the destination. Here is the
code snippet.

tar -xzf "$FILE1" -C "$TEMP_DIR1"
tar -xzf "$FILE2" -C "$TEMP_DIR2"
diff -r "$TEMP_DIR1" "$TEMP_DIR2"

Does -C option to tar giving problems ????

And the erros are,

tar (child): : Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2

 TIA,
 Any ideas ?

- KD
