\q works for mysql as well. I am using MySQL-3.23.47-5mdk with Mandrake8.2. 
Dunno if mandrake has hacked this.

And I don't know if postgres/mysql will stop at end of file. Never ran any 
scripts except for database reloads from dump. And that's a script as well..
