I am tryin my best to install Oracle8i, the mighty beast....:( on RedHat 7.2 ....but all that happens when i run the install script (runinstall.sh)...it just give a message abt loading JRE.....cpu usage by JRE goes to 100% without any further process. I have heard abt successful RH7.2 installations with ORacle 8i. Cany some1 provide some pointers pliss...... Sometime ago Network Computing had a special Linux issue which featured this ORacle on Linux install....but i cant seem to find this online nywhere......on ny of www.nc-india.com sites. SuSE7.3 workz out of the box with ORacle. but i dont want to mess woth another bloatware package unless i am forced into it.
