Something similar can be achieved in KDE. ie, bash can indeed click on the "Get Mail" button of kmail. :-) For example, if I have kmail running, then from command line, when I give: dcop kmail KMailIface openComposer [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] subject body 0 I get a kmail window with all these things filled in. You can run kdcop (while the app is running) to see what all you can do with the DCOP system (it is a sort of scripting interface to KDE). I can see void checkMail() as one of the methods usable from dcop. So, if I have a shell script which runs from ip-up.local and calls dcop kmail KMailIface checkMail, then I can have my mail checked automatically the moment I log onto net. Binand PS: I know this post is of no use to the OP. But surely this should count as one more reason to change over to KDE asap? _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas -- http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
